The AP State Council of Higher Education is earning massive revenue
through Eamcet fees this year, with a record `3.90 lakh applications.
Already, the APSCHE has mopped up `10 crore.
The exam fee is `250, but late applications attract penalties escalating from `500, to `1,000, `5,000 and `10,000 with every passing week till May 9. Exams will be held on May 12.
Late applicants who pay `5,000 and `10,000 will be allotted centres only in Hyderabad and cannot choose their centre like in earlier years. This has been done to check malpractices, particularly in the medical exam, after it was found that some of these students were “repeaters” who were appearing for the Eamcet continuously since 2005 with the intention of helping other students copy from them. Prof N.V.
Ramana Rao, convenor, Eamcet, said data gathered on the “repeaters” will be given to police to verify credentials.
