The Board of Intermediate Education has decided to issue hall tickets to all students immediately in view of the Andhra Pradesh High Court’s orders after around 20,000 students missed Day 1 of the supplementary exams on Wednesday due to lack of hall tickets.
This will enable students to appear for the remaining exams from Thursday.
Many students and parents, however, questioned the decision as thousands of students could not appear for the first day of the exams. They demanded that the physics exam be re-conducted.
The students and parents pointed out that Day 1 was crucial since it was the day for the physics exam in which over 31 per cent students had failed and many had got low marks.
Nearly three lakh senior Intermediate students had applied for the physics exam to improve their score while another 1.5 lakh failed students had also applied to clear the paper.
Nearly 20,000 of these students missed the exam as the hall tickets had not been issued by then.
Tension prevailed at several examination centres in the city and other districts on Wednesday when students and parents asked for hall tickets and demanded that the students be allowed to appear for the exams.
However, the officials denied permission saying that they had no orders to do so.
About 17,226 students missed out on the first year physics supplementary exam which was conducted on Wednesday, out of a total of 3,00,550 registered candidates while 16,750 out of a total of 3,19,834 registered for the second year exam were also absent.
This was because hall tickets had not been issued to all the students.
Thirty students were booked for malpractice during the exams.
Meanwhile, two errors were reported in the second year physics question paper in Telugu.
Question Nos. 13 and 14 were the same and Question No. 19 was different for Telugu and English Medium students.
The Board of Intermediate Exam's offi cial release on Wednesday stated, “In view of the directions o the Honourable High Court, AP, in W.P. No 15174 dated 16-05-2012, the managements and princi pals of the junior colleges who have not uploaded data of the fees paid can didates for IPSE May 2012, are instructed to submit the nominal rolls along with fees paid chal lans immediately to obtain Hall Tickets from BIE.“
Goof-ups in question papers prepared by JNTUHyderabad continue to haunt Eamcet aspirants, with experts and students pointing out four purported errors in the engineering exam question paper — three in physics and one in maths, on Saturday.Five errors were also reported in the medical exam question paper. A question each in physics and botany has more than one option as correct, while two quest
ions in chemistry has more than one option as correct.
Besides, there was also a printing error in one of the questions in physics.
Dubbing Questions No.
86, 93, 109 and 116 in the engineering paper (Code-D) “erroneous”, experts and students urged Eamcet officials to either award four grace marks or delete the questions from valuation.
The Eamcet committee had admitted to three errors last year and deleted them from valuation. This year, it has decided to refer the errors to experts, who will examine them and sub
mit a report within a week.
Eamcet convenor Prof N.V. Ramana Rao, said, “We will release the preliminary key on May 13 and seek objections, if any, on the initial key. Anyone can bring errors to our notice within a week. Subject experts will examine whether they were indeed erroneous and based on that, we will release the final key along with Eamcet results.” The date on which the results would be announced is yet to be finalised, he said.
For twenty minutes, it was terrible mental torture and agony not only for Gadde Lakshmi Swathi of Jegurupadu village in Kadiam mandal in East Godavari district, but also others appearing for Eamcet examination at PR College on Saturday.
Swathi’s leg got trapped in an iron grill on the college gate while she was entering the examination center and she could not pull it out. As the examination time was approaching, she panicked; so were the students around her, who thought she may not make it to the exam on time. The police were also informed. After much effort, the police and relatives of other students freed Gadde Lakshmi, by bending the iron grills with crowbars. She could move in to the examination hall just on time. In view of the incident, circle inspector Deva Kumar directed the college authorities to close the particular gate for pedestrians and that only vehicles should be allowed through the gate. Another gate of the college was opened for the students.
Eamcet-2012 will be held on Saturday in 749 centres across the state.
This will probably be the last Eamcet, with the Centre planning to conduct a single national-level common entrance test for engineering and medical admissions from next year, namely, Iseet and Neet.
Eamcet marks will be announced on May 24 and ranks will be released after the announcement of Intermediate advanced supplementary results by Juneend, after giving weightage for 25 per cent marks
secured in Inter science subjects. Students will not be allowed into the exam centres if they are late by even a minute, after the scheduled time of 10 am and 2.30 pm respectively, for the engineering and medical exams.
They will, however, be allowed into the examination centres 45 minutes before the scheduled time.
“This year, a record number of 3,89,654 students have registered for the exam, the highest-ever number in the history of Eamcet,” said Dr N.V.
Ramana Rao, convenor, Eamcet.
EAMCET RULES Students must download 1 their filled-in online application forms from the Eamcet website. They have to submit their recent passport-size colour photos duly attested by a principal or a gazetted officer. They will be allowed into the exam centres only after producing this form and the hall-ticket.
They must give thumb impressions on this form. Thumb impressions 2 have to be given on the nominal rolls provided by the invigilators as well.
SC/ST students must 3 produce copies of caste certificates issued by the MRO at exam centres.
Special bus service APSRTC will operate 280 Eamcet Special busses from 10am to 1pm for engineering students appearing for the exam on Saturday.
The buses will run from 2.30pm to 5.30pm for medicine aspirants from various points in city.

The state government has decided to give weightage for marks obtained in
the improvement examination in Eamcet for senior Intermediate students.
Eamcet ranks will be announced for improvement students along with other students simultaneously and they will be allowed for Eamcet counselling in the first phase on par with regular students, who have not appeared for the improvement exams. The state has also decided to adopt the old method of announcing Eamcet marks first and Eamcet ranks later, after the announcement of inter advanced supplementary results.
The decisions were taken during a meeting convened by the deputy Chief Minister, Mr Damodar Raja Narasimha, with officials of the higher and secondary education departments on Friday.

Officials blamed for confusing remarks
Contradictory statements by ministers and officials of secondary and higher education departments over giving weightage for “improvement marks” in Eamcet have spelled trouble for over one lakh second year Inter students. These students are taking the improvement exam to improve their score in physics. While about 31 per cent students had failed in physics, several thousands more secured low marks, prompting the government to allow them to write the “improvement exam”. This is for the first time that second year students are being allowed to take improvement exams.
While the students are preparing for improvement exams seriously, the
ministers and officials are creating utter confusion by making contradictory statements on giving Eamcet weightage for these students. While minister for secondary education K.
Parthasarathy says these students will be treated on par with other students, officials of higher education department say they will be allowed for Eamcet counselling only for the second phase by giving them Eamcet ranks later.
Parents and students say officials are irresponsibly making contradictory statements and creating unnecessary confusion.
However, clarity over the issue is expected on Friday when officials will meet CM N. Kiran Kumar Reddy and deputy CM Damodar Raja Narasimha, to take a final decision.
Students and parents
argue there is no point in taking improvement exams if Eamcet ranks are not announced for them simultaneously with other students by taking fresh inter marks into consideration. “What is the use in taking such exams, when we have to opt for leftover seats in second phase of Eamcet,” asked A. Avinash, a second year student.
“If the intention of the government is not to allow improvement students in the first phase of Eamcet counselling, why did it ask students to appear for reexams in the first place? We request the government to rethink its decision,” said M. Aishwarya, a second year student.
Meanwhile, the Inter board has extended the due date to register for improvement exams by another day to May 4.
The AP State Council of Higher Education is earning massive revenue
through Eamcet fees this year, with a record `3.90 lakh applications.
Already, the APSCHE has mopped up `10 crore.
The exam fee is `250, but late applications attract penalties escalating from `500, to `1,000, `5,000 and `10,000 with every passing week till May 9. Exams will be held on May 12.
Late applicants who pay `5,000 and `10,000 will be allotted centres only in Hyderabad and cannot choose their centre like in earlier years. This has been done to check malpractices, particularly in the medical exam, after it was found that some of these students were “repeaters” who were appearing for the Eamcet continuously since 2005 with the intention of helping other students copy from them. Prof N.V.
Ramana Rao, convenor, Eamcet, said data gathered on the “repeaters” will be given to police to verify credentials.

Medical aspirants appearing for Eamcet repeatedly is understandable given the few MBBS seats available in the state N.V. Ramana Rao Eamcet convenor
Candidates who passed their Intermediate exams nearly 27 years ago, in 1985, have applied for Eamcet this year.
Eamcet officials received several applications from those who had passed Intermediate between 1985 and 2000. They said since there was no upper age limit for Eamcet, all applicants would have to be allowed to appear for the exam irrespective of age.
However, the officials are being extra cautious about the large number of Eamcet applicants, who have cleared Intermediate between 2005 and 2010. The majority of them submitted applications for the Eamcet medical exam, while a few opted for the engineering stream exam. Their details have been submitted to the intelligence and police departments for the verification of credentials to avoid irregularities like copying and leakage of question papers.
According to Eamcet officials, two candidates each, who passed Intermediate in 1985, 1986 and 1990, have applied for Eamcet this year. One each who cleared Intermediate in 1987, 1992,
1993 and 1995 have submitted applications for Eamcet.
Three candidates each who passed Intermediate in 1994, 1996, and four each who cleared Inter exams in 1997 and 1998 have also applied for Eamcet.
However, the number of old students who applied for Eamcet has increased significantly with each passing year from the 2000 batch of Intermediate students. Fourteen students who cleared Eamcet in 2000 have applied for Eamcet this year. The number increased to 25 (2001), 20 (2002), 22 (2003), 48 (2004), 97 (2005), 202 (2006), 340 (2007), 594 (2008), 959 (2009), 2,481 (2010) and 17,094 (2011).
Professor N.V. Ramana Rao, Eamcet convenor, has stated that a few candidates aged above 50 years have approached them, since the
online application system does not accept their applications, as the software is designed with an upper cap of 45 years. “They have told us that they are retired employees and just wanted to test their subject, understanding and memory skills. Their intention is to assess where they stand now when compared with the new generation of students,” professor Rao said.
However, those students who cleared Inter between 2005 and 2010 are giving the jitters to the Eamcet officials, since their number is fairly large compared with other “repeaters”.
In 2010, a malpractice came to light when a group of repeaters leaked the medical question papers using mobile phones with blue-tooth technology.
Officials thwarted their attempts, as the culprits were caught inside the exam centres.
Professor Rao explained: “Medical aspirants appearing for Eamcet repeatedly, is understandable given the few MBBS seats available in the state. But when the same thing is done by engineering aspirants, despite the abundance of B.Tech seats, there is room for suspicion. For this reason, we are verifying the credentials of repeaters.”
Online application system is a big hit
Elaborate arrangements are being made to check malpractice. Jammers are being installed in exam centres to check hi-tech copying while photographs and thumb impressions of the candidates will be taken to check impersonation.
Moreover, there will be manual frisking.
The announcement of Eamcet ranks will be advanced by more than a month this year, thanks to the decision of the officials to announce ranks based on the marks secured in Intermediate second year main exams. Earlier, they used to wait till the results of Inter advanced supplementary were released in
July. The Eamcet results will be announced on May 24, within 12 days of the exam on May 12.
Eamcet results are being announced in two phases since 2009 due to the policy of the state government to give 25 per cent weightage for Inter marks while determining ranks in Eamcet.
“We have decided to announce Eamcet ranks on May 24. We have submitted a proposal to the govern
ment to announce Eamcet ranks based on Inter exam main results and without waiting for supplementary results. With this, we can finish engineering counselling by June-end and start classes from July, saving two months for students besides preventing migration of students to other states due to delay in admissions,” said Prof N.V.
Andhra Pradesh Intermediate results are to be out soon and now there is less time for the Aspirants who are going to appear EAMCET 2012 Entrance Exam, Here are important suggestions for the Aspirants to Crack EAMCET. Aspirants should have a brief Idea on the Subjects that they are Attempting. Another important thing that Aspirants should be noted is EAMCET Rank depends on the marks that they score in EAMCET.
In National Level Entrance Exam like AIEEE, IITJEE Aspirants has maximum time to answer the questions nearly 30 questions per hour. So they don’t need to worry about time Management. But EAMCET Aspirants must and should has grip on the Subjects and Time Management because Aspirant should attempt 55 questions per hour. So EAMCET aspirants should have Speed and Accuracy while writing the Exam. Aspirants must and should focus on shortcuts and direct answers. Students should concentrate on Mock Tests so that they can recheck the Mistake they have done.
Intermediate Marks as Weightage:
Like Previous year also 25% weightage will be based on Intermediate Marks and 75% weightage will be based on the Marks that they score in EAMCET. EAMCET marks will decide the Final EAMCET Rank rather than Inter Marks. As per the Analysis 1 mark in EAMCET is Equal to 15 marks in Intermediate. So Experts surely say that Apirants must concentrate on EAMCET to get good Rank in EAMCET.
Students who are Appearing for Engineering Entrance must concentrate on Time management while Attempting the Exam. Medical Students can Attempt 80 Questions in 50 minutes, chemistry Questions in 1 hour so they have Maximum time for Attempting Physics Questions. But Coming to Engineering Aspirants they take 1 hour 15 minutes to attempt 80 questions in Mathematics , one hour for attempting chemistry so they has less time to attempt Physics questions.
As the Time for Appearing EAMCET is less, Aspirants must concentrate on revising the Subject Topic wise and Should Attempt More and More Mock tests so that he can check the Mistakes that had done and will not repeat it in upcoming Exams. Students Appearing EAMCET is Increasing gradually so every students who are writing the Entrance Exam will faces tough Competition. Aspirants target should be an admissions in any one of the Premier Engineering Colleges in Andhra Pradesh so that he can get into any one of that Institutes. Aspirants should score more than 100 marks in EAMCET so that he can get the Branches and Colleges of his Choice
Here are some Statics of previous years Ranks based on Marks scored :
| EAMCET Marks | EAMCET Rank |
| 159 | 1 |
| 150 | 20 |
| 145 | 140 |
| 140 | 275 |
| 135 | 545 |
| 130 | 800 |
| 125 | 1,200 |
| 120 | 1,575 |
| 115 | 2,375 |
| 110 | 3,200 |
| 105 | 4,500 |
| 100 | 6,000 |
| 95 | 8,600 |
| 90 | 11,000 |
| 85 | 14,000 |
| 80 | 18,300 |
| 70 | 30,000 |
| 60 | 55,000 |
From Next Year onwards there will be no more EAMCET for Medical students, Students seeking admission to medical colleges in the state will have to appear for a common national-level test to be held by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). A similar examination for post-graduate courses will be introduced from 2013.
When the notice for the National Eligibility-cum- Entrance Test for undergraduates (NEET-UG) is issued by the Union Health Ministry in about 10 days, EAMCET will cease to exist, health minister D L Ravindra Reddy announced on Thursday.
The move kicked off a debate on its implications for rural students and the syllabus candidates would have to prepare for. According to sources, the state government of Andhra Pradesh was opposed to the Medical Council of India’s (MCI’s) proposal to have one national-level common test because of the difficulties it would have overcome in implementing reservations for local and non-local quota and for the state’s underprivileged classes.
Apart from Andhra Pradesh, the move attracted opposition from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. But the Supreme Court gave the MCI the go-ahead in July and states will have to fall in line.
“We have to honour the Supreme Court’s decision or it would amount to contempt of court. All states that were opposed to the national-level test will have to say yes now,” Ravindra Reddy said.
To get round the reservation problem, MCI had told the apex court that along with a national-level merit list, it would release a state-wise merit list so that states can admit students according to their reservation policy. But state governments are worried about certain other issues as well.
Moreover, officials say the test would be conducted in Hindi and English and not in any other language. Tamil Nadu has strongly opposed this and demanded that states be allowed to conduct the test in their local languages. Thousands of students studying in Telugu-medium schools are in a fix with this move as they would find it hard to write in Hindi or English. On this issue, other states like Gujarat, Maharashtra,West Bengal too are demanding that the test be conducted in their local language
