APPLYING FOR VISA

STUDENT VISA OR PERMIT
As per the details available on the official sites, most people can be considered for a visa or permit to study in New Zealand, provided they meet all the requirements. But, to protect the interests of New Zealanders (Kiwis) they don't issue visa to people involved in certain activities.

PROCESS TO GET A STUDENT VISA OR PERMIT
They have a clear application process for students to follow. The applicant students have to show them that they have paid the student fees. There will also be a Student Visa or Permit fees i.e., Visa fees.

STEPS TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM

STEP – I: Print and complete the Application Form to Study in New Zealand (INZ 1012). There is a guide for Study in New Zealand (INZ 1013), which will assist the applicant students when applying. If the form and guide cannot be printed they are available at the nearest New Zealand Immigration offices.

STEP – II: Make sure that everything that is required is submitted, including the fees details along with the completed (and signed) application form. The applicant students will also need to provide all the information listed at the front of the application form and the exact amount of fees. If the required information is not provided or submitted then the application cannot be accepted for further processing.

STEP – III: Make sure that the students meet their health and character requirements. They also have to provide how long they will be staying in New Zealand.

STEP – IV: Studying in New Zealand for about six months to two years? Then the applicants also need to provide a completed Temporary Entry X-ray Certificate (INZ 1096) to show that they have been screened and tested for tuberculosis (TB). If studying is more than two years then the applicants need to complete a medical examination and a medical and an X-ray certificate.

DOCUMENTS:
1. Required by all entering New Zealand
2. Sufficient money for self-support
3. A Passport valid for three months beyond the scheduled date of departure from New Zealand
4. Completed application form
5. A recent passport-size photograph
6. Evidence of financial support or sponsorship

Student Visa: Confirmation of placement at an approved educational institution.

Time for issuing Visa: Visitor Visas – 3 weeks; Student Visas – Generally it takes from 4 – 8 weeks. But it depends on the New Zealand embassy where the applicant student is applying from.

Validity: The maximum period of time most visitors can remain in New Zealand is 9 months within a 18 month period.

Visitors not requiring visas are initially allowed a stay for up to 3 months, after which they can apply in New Zealand for an extension of up to 9 months.
