NO HALL TICKETS, 20,000 STUDENTS MISS INTER EXAM

The Board of Intermediate Education has decided to issue hall tickets to all students immediately in view of the Andhra Pradesh High Court’s orders after around 20,000 students missed Day 1 of the supplementary exams on Wednesday due to lack of hall tickets.

This will enable students to appear for the remaining exams from Thursday.

Many students and parents, however, questioned the decision as thousands of students could not appear for the first day of the exams. They demanded that the physics exam be re-conducted.

The students and parents pointed out that Day 1 was crucial since it was the day for the physics exam in which over 31 per cent students had failed and many had got low marks.

Nearly three lakh senior Intermediate students had applied for the physics exam to improve their score while another 1.5 lakh failed students had also applied to clear the paper.

Nearly 20,000 of these students missed the exam as the hall tickets had not been issued by then.

Tension prevailed at several examination centres in the city and other districts on Wednesday when students and parents asked for hall tickets and demanded that the students be allowed to appear for the exams.

However, the officials denied permission saying that they had no orders to do so.
About 17,226 students missed out on the first year physics supplementary exam which was conducted on Wednesday, out of a total of 3,00,550 registered candidates while 16,750 out of a total of 3,19,834 registered for the second year exam were also absent.

This was because hall tickets had not been issued to all the students.
Thirty students were booked for malpractice during the exams.

Meanwhile, two errors were reported in the second year physics question paper in Telugu.
Question Nos. 13 and 14 were the same and Question No. 19 was different for Telugu and English Medium students.

The Board of Intermediate Exam's offi cial release on Wednesday stated, “In view of the directions o the Honourable High Court, AP, in W.P. No 15174 dated 16-05-2012, the managements and princi pals of the junior colleges who have not uploaded data of the fees paid can didates for IPSE May 2012, are instructed to submit the nominal rolls along with fees paid chal lans immediately to obtain Hall Tickets from BIE.“
