At a time when the state is trying to figure out how to implement SC’s order directing 25 per cent reservation to poor students under the Right to Education Act, a private school in Hasanparty has shown to what extent managements can go to collect dues.
The management of Rao’s Techno Residential School in Hasanparty detained Bandela Aravind, 11, a Class IV student, when his mother arrived to take him home for summer vacations on Friday.
Sources said the school management demanded payment of `3,000 as a condition for Aravind’s “release”. Ms Bandela Haima promised to clear the dues after selling agriculture produce, but the management did not budge. Ms Haima went to the police station to lodge a complaint against P.Prabhakar Rao, school chairman.
However, the cops didn’t register a case.
