The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
is a globally recognized college admission test that lets you show
colleges what you know and how well you can apply that knowledge. It
tests your knowledge of reading, writing and math — subjects that are
taught every day in high school classrooms. Most students take the SAT during their junior or senior year of high school, and almost all colleges and universities use the SAT to make admission decisions.

SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test)
tests your skill in quantitative reasoning and verbal ability for
admission to colleges in USA. It is conducted, developed and published
by College Board of US but it is formally conducted, developed and
published by ETS (Educational Testing Service). Candidates seeking
admission to undergraduate courses in US universities are required to
take SAT exam. An individual cannot take SAT exam more than 2 times.
When is SAT conducted?
SAT is conducted 6 to 7 times in 1 year in the months of November, October, December, March, January, June and May.

Registration for SAT Exam
Candidates who are willing to take up the SAT test can register online at the College Board's website, by mail, or by telephone, at least three weeks before the test date.
Scoring Pattern for SAT
- SAT 1- For SAT general test, the total SAT score is 2400. The 3 sections namely Writing, Reading and Mathematics are reported on a scale of 200 to 800. To ensure admission in a reputed college one should secure a SAT score of 500 in each section.
- SAT 2- For SAT subject test, the total score is 2400. Here also the subjects are reported on a scale of 200 to 800.

The GRE (Graduate record Examinations)
is a standard test for admissions to various graduate schools based in
United States, other English speaking countries and business program and
graduate programs taught in English across the globe. The test was
developed by ETS (Educational testing Service) in 1949. The objective of
the exam is to test candidate’s skill in quantitative reasoning, verbal
reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing. The GRE test is an online test.

Candidates seeking admission to graduate and business schools from
across the globe can appear for GRE General Test. Applicants from
different cultural and academic backgrounds take the test where GRE
General Test provides a common platform for measuring the candidate’s
aptitude.
GRE scores are used to supplement bachelor’s degree records, qualifications at graduate level and recommendation letters.
Time and place for taking the test
The GRE test
is conducted at about 700 major test centers across 160 countries. Most
of the countries hold the computer based test all round the year on
continuous basis. In Taiwan, Mainland China, Korea and Hong Kong, online
test is conducted once or twice every month. In the parts of the world
where online format is not available, the test is conducted in paper
pencil based format thrice a year in February, October and November.
The GRE test
scores are accepted by numerous business and graduate schools
worldwide. GRE scores are valid for 5 years. ETS can send your GRE
scores to four universities chosen by you.

IELTS Paper Pattern
IELTS
has four parts – Listening (30 minutes), Reading (60 minutes), Writing
(60 minutes) and Speaking (11–14 minutes). The total test time is 2
hours and 45 minutes. The Listening, Reading and Writing tests are done
in one sitting. The Speaking test may be on the same day or up to seven
days before or after the other tests.
