DOCUMENTS CHECKLIST
- A Completed Profile
- Transcripts
From 10th class onwards (duly attested by the respective Head of the Institution) 10th and Inter (12th) transcripts need not be in sealed envelopes. The degree marks and provisional must be in sealed envelope, with seal and signature on the flap of the envelope too. - Statement of Purpose (SOP)
SOP must be a one-page statement which contains a student's personal and academic history. It should contain information on the student's educational objectives, career goals, reasons for studying in Canada and the purpose for choosing a particular course program in a particular institution/university. - Recommendation Letters
Atleast two or three recommendation letters from two or three lecturers/professors, who taught at the degree level preferably by the head of departments and who taught the main subjects. These letters must be printed on personal or college letterheads and must be signed and sealed (including the envelope).
- Bank Statement
1. Financial/Bank statement indicates the availability of funds (with student or sponsor) in a bank, in a savings bank account only. These funds must be available for the purpose of student's education. A statement given by the bank manager on the bank's letterhead, which clearly indicates the amount of funds available in both native currency and the foreign currency (refers to Canada here) has to be given with the seal of the bank and signature of the manager. For every university the student applies, there should be a copy of an enclosed original bank statement showing adequate funds to cover atleast a year's tuition fees and living expenses. Because the multiple originals cannot be obtained for every university, the first statement can be photocopied and then should be signed and sealed by the bank manager individually.
2. Some universities may need the financial statements to be filled in the application. If it is indicated as mandatory, it is always better to get that form appropriately filled by the bank. It is important to indicate the availability of funds for the entire duration of the course. For example, for a two-year Masters program, funds must be adequate to cover both the years. If the funds are not available for two years, then it is appropriate to indicate availability for at least one year, covering tuition, living expenses and other fees. Hence, before taking a statement, it is better to calculate the maximum expenditure among the universities applied and by taking the higher amount and arranging for a bank statement, accordingly. This will eliminate the need to take fresh statement every time that a student applies for a university with higher fee structure
- Affidavit of Support
On Rs.100 Non Judicial Stamp Paper. An original AOS (notarized) has to be sent to each university. Letter of undertaking or Affidavit of Support (AOS) is to be given by the sponsor of student who finances the education. This has to be given on Rs.100/- (if in India) Non-Judicial Stamp Paper, in a prescribed format.
Sometimes the universities may request the undertaking to be given on the student's application itself. This AOS has to be signed by the sponsor, properly witnessed and attested by Notary public. An original AOS should be enclosed for every university that is applied. Because the multiple AOS cannot be obtained for every university, the first statement can be photocopied and then should be signed by the sponsor and notarized individually.
- Application fee
In US $ (or that country's currency) as required by university.
- Scorecard
GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS scorecards must be enclosed.
- Covering Letter
A covering letter must be enclosed which indicates the score of TOEFL and GRE/GMAT, but if the tests are not taken the student must make an arrangement to send the scores reporting by ETS to the chosen universities and informing them.

VISA - GERMANY
A visa is absolutely necessary under the immigration laws for Germany. Students can't enter the country with a tourist Visa for the purpose of studying. Those wishing to enter the country to study may apply for a visa for purposes of study, or for a study applicant visa.
The visa must be issued before you can enter the country; you should therefore apply for it much ahead. The responsible body is the German Embassy or Consulate General in your country, which can also provide you with further information.
The visa for purposes of study will be issued if you have already been accepted to study in Germany. The study applicant visa (Studienbewerber-Visum) permits you to enter the country before the admission decision by the university or college, in order to obtain information on the spot. The university applicant visa is particularly important for applicants to the Hochschule for Musik and Theater (College of Music and Drama), so that you can enter the country for the entrance examination. And this type of visa may also be useful to applicants who wish to improve their language skills in Germany before starting their studies. The study applicant visa is limited to three months, but it can be converted to a visa for study purposes if you receive your admission from the university or college during this period.
For both types of visas it is necessary to hold a valid passport, to provide proof of financial means for your period of study in Germany, and to have either university admission (visa for purposes of study) or at least a confirmation of your status as an applicant (study applicant visa).
Those who intend to study and enter the country on a study applicant visa should also note that they must provide evidence of a university or college place in Germany within the prescribed period of three months, in order to obtain a residence permit for study purposes.

FEW THINGS ABOUT AUSTRALIA
Australia provides strong educational infrastructure, a high quality of life, relatively less expensive and easy visa chances. Australian education has heavy competition and is gaining the increased acceptance in this global arena. In the past few years, approximately more than 1.4 million students from different countries have studied in this country. Also, there are many Indian students who already studied and are studying mainly the post-graduate courses. Students from all over the world study in Australia to take the advantage of its world class higher education, its progressive vocational education and training and world class leadership in English language courses for international students. The students not only enjoy the quality of education but also the specialized support services, safe and welcoming society.
The international standardization of Australian education and training has been growing rapidly. The linkages between the Australian schools, colleges and universities with the students and the staff have blossomed in the recent years. The Australian Department of Education, Science and Training is represented in India at the Australian High Commission in New Delhi.
The Australian method of study is quite different with the educational system that is experienced in different countries like India. Therefore it is very important for a student to give a head start and it is always better to keep up to date with the Australian news, current affairs and become familiar with the Australian educational system and its learning culture. The Australian accent is different and hard but practicing and listening will make a student soon understand the local terms and the way of speaking.
In Australia, the students are expected to collect and analyze data individually or sometimes in groups, take an active part in the learning process, conduct research, participate in discussions and debates, prepare the presentations and deliver them before other students and lecturers/professors or tutors. The students have an opportunity to spend a great deal of time in libraries and laboratories conducting their own research. The students are assessed continuously through assignments, examinations and presentations. The students have to adapt this new process of learning and assessment to get their graduation or to complete the courses. Any academic problems can be easily discussed with the respective tutors/professors and can be solved.

What do the initials "SAT" mean?
Originally, SAT was an abbreviation for the Scholastic
Aptitude Test. In 1993, the test was renamed the SAT I: Reasoning Test. At the
same time, the former Achievement Tests were renamed the SAT II: Subject Tests.
In 2004, the numerals "I" and "II" were dropped, and the
tests are now named the SAT and SAT Subject Tests.
What's the difference between the SAT and SAT Subject Tests?
The SAT measures what you have learned in school and how
well you can apply that knowledge. It assesses how well you analyze and solve
problems. SAT scores are used for college admissions purposes because the test
predicts college success. The SAT Subject Tests are one-hour, primarily
multiple-choice tests in specific subjects. SAT Subject Tests measure knowledge
or skills in a particular subject and your ability to apply that knowledge.
How are SAT scores reported?
The SAT has three scores, each on the scale of 200-800. Your
score includes writing (W 200-800), mathematics (M 200-800), and critical
reading (CR 200-800). Two subscores are given for the writing section: a
multiple-choice subscore on a scale of 20-80, and an essay subscore on a scale
of 2-12.
What will I be asked to write about in the essay?
The essay question will ask you to develop a point of view
on an issue and support it with examples from your studies and experience. You
can answer the question successfully in many different ways. You won't have to
have any prior knowledge about the topic to write an effective essay. However,
you will have to answer the essay assignment directly. See Strategies for
Success on the SAT Essay for more information on how to do your best on the SAT
essay.
Will colleges see my essay? How will they use the writing score?
A college will be able to view and print a copy of your
essay only if you sent an official score report to that college.
Writing scores, which have been shown to be an excellent
predictor of performance in college, may be used for admissions decisions and
possibly for placement in English composition or related courses.
Are all SAT questions multiple-choice?
In addition to multiple-choice questions, the SAT has a
25-minute written essay and 10 student-produced response math questions. The
math questions ask you to fill in, or "grid-in," your own answers
using a special section of the answer sheet.
How many times can you take the test?
You can take the test as many times as you want. Most
students take the test once or twice. Research shows that taking the test more
than twice won't help you significantly improve your score. Your online score
report and the report sent to your high school (if you give us your high school
code) shows your current test score, in addition to scores for up to six SAT
and six SAT Subject Test administrations. You have the option to choose which
scores (by test date for the SAT and by individual test for SAT Subject Tests)
you send to colleges-in accordance with each institution's stated score-use
practice. You can choose scores from one, several, or all SAT test dates.
